How to get on the Public Leaderboard
1 - From your sheet, go to the Index page, and click on the Community Race
2 - Click on the Community Set Up link that appears
3 - Enter your name in Cell C15 (in the box next to where it asks for your Preferred Displayed Name)
4 - You’ll see some new instructions appear. Click the Share option for the sheet:
5 - Under the General Access section, click to ensure that you have selected “Anyone with the link”
6 - Press the Copy Link button
7 - You can now hit the Done button.
8 - Click on the link for the form for the Community Race that you want to join (this will open a Google Form in a new browser window)
9 - Paste your share link in to this form, and hit the Submit button
10 - You’re now done! Follow the link from the sheet to the Leaderboard (or use the menu bar at deathracetracking.com to select the correct race), and after a few minutes, you should see your name appear! You may need to refresh the page a couple of times.
The leaderboard will automatically update as long as you don’t un-share your sheet.
Troubleshooting
Please note it can take up to 5 or 10 minutes for your name to show up.
If you have previously shared a link to your sheet without setting the access to “Anyone with the link”, you will need to edit your submission - just follow the link to the form and re-submit with the updated link.
If you’re not getting any data showing on your own sheet, this can mess up the feed coming into the Leaderboard. Please try selecting the “Update” option from the Index page of the sheet, and toggling the “-” option, and then selecting the “Update” value.
